When your nanny is sick and/or unable to come to work, ABN typically follows these steps to assist you and ensure your children receive proper care:

  1. Notification and Assessment: Your nanny should inform the ABN as soon as possible about their illness and the expected duration of their absence. We will then assess the situation and determine the appropriate course of action.
  2. Backup Care Arrangements: ABN will work to find suitable backup care for your children. We will contact temporary nannies, reaching out to backup caregivers that you have specified, or connecting you to other available temporary nannies.
  3. Communication with You: ABN will keep you informed about the backup care arrangements and provide you with contact information for the temporary caregiver. We will also keep you updated on your nanny’s condition and expected return date.
  4. Coordination and Payment: ABN will coordinate the logistics of the backup care, including scheduling. We will have you directly pay the temporary provider for their daily wages.
  5. Support and Flexibility: ABN will provide support and flexibility during this time, understanding that unexpected childcare needs can be stressful. We will work to minimize disruptions to your routine and ensure your children receive the care they need.
  6. Nanny’s Well-being: ABN will also check in on the sick nanny’s well-being and provide support as needed. We may offer assistance with medical appointments or connect them with resources for sick leave and/or benefits.
